Hands on experiences at the Knoxville Zoo

Ever wondered why a giraffe has a black tongue or if penguins have more feathers than other birds?  These questions plus many more can be answered on a family outing to the Knoxville Zoo.  The Zoo is home to over 800 animals and provides families a hands on opportunity to learn about fascinating creatures. From feeding giraffes to playing with penguins, the Knoxville Zoo offers several “Encounters” for children and adults to enjoy!
